| The Black Moon Tribe is proud to announce it will be holding a Fishing Tournament on April 17 at 4:00pm from the Ratchet pier!
The art of fishing plays a strong role in troll culture. The Black Moon Tribe (BMT), a strongly troll-centric guild, is holding this event to celebrate this aspect of troll culture and share it with the rest of the Horde. Ratchet has been chosen as a location due to its proximity to our beloved Echo Isles and it's ease to get to from the rest of the realm. The goblins of Ratchet have agreed to allow us to hold this event from their pier, and will be minimizing trade vessel traffic during this time to accommodate the tournament.
An entrance fee for the tournament of 25 silver will be charged to each contestant. All coin collected as entrance fees will be returned as Cash Prizes to those in the Winners Categories . All contestants will be automatically be entered into the drawings for some Fabulous Door Prizes (5 door prize packages total, see below). Space is limited, with only 24 slots open for contestants, so you are encouraged to show up early for the tournament. Registration will begin 30 minutes before the tournament is slated to begin, at 3:30pm EST, in front of the Ratchet bank. The three main Winners Categories and the Winner's Prize Packages are as follows: |
Grand Prize Winner - "Harvester of the Sea"
The contestant that manages to catch the most fish in the allotted time will be given the ceremonial title of "Harvester of the Sea." In addition to his title, he will also receive the following exciting prize package which includes the rarest, most potent fish-slaying weapon known to the trolls, a cash prize, a something-for-everyone potion package, and a "Tastes of the Sea" buff-food basket: |
Alternate Winner - "Blackmouth Slayer"
The contestant who catches the most Oily Blackmouth in the allotted time has clearly shown to have developed a secret bait-jiggling technique for enticing this elusive species. This lucky contestant will win this exciting prize package, which includes a cash prize, a "Bass Master" potion package, and a "Tastes of the Sea" buff-food basket:
|
Alternate Winner - "Bottom Dredger"
Some fishermen like to fish close to the bottom in hopes of claiming that monster-sized catch. Often, more weeds, boots, clams, and junk result. To the contestant that reels in the most clams, bottles, crates, and other junk goes this exciting prize package which includes a cash prize, an "Explorer of the Depths" potion package, and a "Tastes of the Sea" buff-food basket:
|
Fabulous Door Prizes
A total of five (5) Door Prize Packages will be rolled on, with all contestants having an equal chance to win regardless of their fishing performance. Each Door Prize Package starts with a Mageweave Bag (12-slot container) stuffed with five portions each of both Savory Deviate Delight and Dragonbreath Chili . In addition to these always-fun foodstuffs, each of the five bags will contain additional unique prizes, ranging from head-to-toe enchantment sessions to armor kits, potion stacks, and more buff-foods.

HOW THE TOURNAMENT WILL WORK
- The 24 contestants will be divided into groups, each consisting of 4 contestants and an official BMT judge.
- Each contestant will then pay his 25s entry fee to their BMT judge. Each contestant will then be told his or her Contestant Number (1 through 24) by their group's BMT judge. The Contestant Number will be used for the Fabulous Door Prize drawings.
- The groups of contestants will be led down to the pier by their BMT judge to await the official start of the tourney.
- After a short speech by the Tournament Director, the contest will officially begin once the Tournament Director /yells "BEGIN FISHING - YOU HAVE 20 MINUTES."
- The contestants will then fish their hardest for 20 minutes. The BMT judges for each group will have a scorecard and tally the catch of each of the 4 contestants under their watch by observing the loot messages in the group chat window. The Tournament Director will /yell a message stating when there are 10, 5 and 1 minutes of fishing time remaining.
- Once the 20 minutes are up, the Tournament Director will /yell "CONTESTANTS - POLES OUT OF THE WATER! JUDGES, BRING ME YOUR SCORECARDS." At this point, the BMT judges will stop logging any catches the contestants bring in.
- The scorecards will be tallied/compiled by the Tournament Director and BMT judges. During the wait for this to be completed, a BMT representative will conduct the Fabulous Door Prize drawings. This will be done by the representative announcing which prize was up for drawing and then doing /RANDOM 24 rolls and comparing the result to the list of contestant numbers.
- If there are definite winners in the three WINNERS CATEGORIES, these will be announced and the prizes distributed. In order to spread out the prizes amongst as many players as possible, each contestant will be eligible for only a single WINNERS CATEGORY. If a player has won multiple categories, he will be asked to decide which he wants, and then the prize for the second win will go to the runner-up in that category. If a contestant has won a category and tied a win for a second category, he will be asked whether he wants to take the prize for the category he won, or go onto the tie-breaking round in the category he tied in. If a contestant has tied in multiple categories, he will be asked which tie-breaking category he wishes to enter. Tie-breaking will be handled as follows:
- For a tie in the HARVESTER OF THE SEA category, contestants will enter 5-minute tie-breaking rounds. The contestant who catches the most fish wins. The 5-minute rounds will continue until all ties are broken.
- For a tie in the BLACKMOUTH SLAYER category, a sudden-death round will be conducted. The 1st player to catch TWO Oily Blackmouth fish in this round will be declared the winner.
- For a tie in the BOTTOM DREDGER category, a sudden-death round will be conducted. The 1st player to catch ONE clam or non-fish item will be declared the winner of this category.
